This is Utena's version of the traditional Rosebride dress. |

Mara says: "I love Utena. She's a wonderful anime character. And I also love beautiful dresses. I think that my main inspiration for making this costume was because of Love Meeko's Utena Bride dress, which I am in awe of." |

"This costume is actually somewhat incomplete. I say somewhat because I have worn it before, and it looks alright for the most part. The epaulettes are missing their balls and tassles, and I need to shorten the jacket. I would also like to have a fluffy underskirt to wear with it to give it the full look that it has in the anime, and also to help keep it off the ground, since it is rather long on me." |

"The costume is made from a gorgeous, soft pink satin with a darker pink baroque satin for the front panel on the skirt. I would also like to make the skirt fuller, if I am able to find more of that same material. I used black satin bias tape to trim the jacket, with black satin buttons, gold rope cord, and various accessories that could probably use a little work, but are just fine for now. I didn't have a tiara of my own at the time, so I borrowed Kat's for AX02. This costume is semi-retired until I am able to get a new long pink wig." |
