Winters Knight says: "Yet another of my last minute endeavors, I decided to do Juri because I wanted to cosplay something with AmazonMandy. I love Utena and the movie version of Juri looked the easier of the two options to do, plus it would work with Mandy’s movie Utena. So about a week before AUSA I decided to just for the heck of it look at wigs. By that night I had ordered the wig, bought fabric, and begun dying it. One week later. Finished." |

"It took me Seven Days to complete this costume (in between work and classes that is). The jacket and pants are made of a heavy brushed Cotton Twill, I dyed the jacket fabric to get it to that salmon colour. It involved Tangerine, Fuchsia, and Rose Pink RIT dyes. The sleeves were a black twill I had lying around the house.
All eight buttons have working Button Holes, and there is one other button on the inside. I painted all the buttons (they are made of wood) to make them gold. The edges are all red bias tape. My wig is what I am especially proud of. I used an Ashanti wig I bought from Bob (wildcat wigs ebay seller). It was such a lovely colour, very natural. I curled it myself. This is my first time curling a wig, and I think it turned out SMASHINGLY. I went for heeled boots because Mandy’s shoes are heeled so we’d match heightwise better." |
