Lady Terentia and I had such a ball being Umi and Fuu last year, we knew we wanted to do it again. Avian had fallen in love with Primera's costume design years ago, before she even knew who the character was, in fact, so she called dibs on her and we convinced Reinii to be our Hikaru. And while a number of different costumes were discussed, we decided to go with the "Other Worlds" versions for our second stint as the Magic Knights. Since Bev had done such an amazing job on my Umi costume from the year before, I definitely wanted to get her for this outfit as well.

Bev's amazing handiwork aside, due to a variety outside influences, I ended up rushing the few things I had to do for this costume myself, and I think it shows. This is the same Umi wig that I had the year before, but it had gotten horribly tangled between then and Otakon 2008, and despite my friend Skye's best efforts to untangle and de-frizz it, it definitely was not the silky-smooth wig it had been. I ended up having to cover up the worst parts with the scarf, which is why it looks more like a kerchief in most pictures. The shoes ended up matching nicely despite ordering them mere days before the con, and once the four of us were together--five, when a random Ferio found us and agreed to join us for pictures!--the combination of all our costumes together made a great impression.
