Patti, Steph, Koi, and I started batting ideas back and forth for some steampunk closet cosplay ideas for Saturday of AnomalyCon. I knew they had steampunk versions of Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman already, and since I had already cosplayed regular Batgirl, I figured it would be a cinch to steampunk it. HA!
In the end, absolutely nothing came from my original Batgirl costume. Patti found a pair of goggles and a plain black fashion corset for me to buy. Steph modded a ladies' suit jacket into a bolero, and custom embroidered the bat symbol for me. They also lent (and later gave) me the belt I wore, and while I had brought my "lava orange" Brenna wig to wear, after taking one look at me in it, both Steph and Koi insisted I borrow Steph's Black Widow wig instead. The black skirt and the boots I already owned, and a bought a pair of yellow tights literally the day before I left.
