You'd have to ask Louis how he felt about his costume, but I was severely disappointed with mine. It was one-size-fits-all...which meant the belt was so huge, I could have wrapped it around me twice, so I had to cut some of it off and then glue the velcro back on. The hood is inside out, which means you can't actually put it on your head, because then the seam will stick up like the world's smallest mohawk. The material is the same cheap polyester that your average 8th grade graduation gown is made out of, and therefore not only not the most comfortable fabric in the world, but rather see-through. Still, with my Aunt Diane styling my hair into Leia's trademark buns, and a gun on loan from my friend Edpool, at least I was recognizable.
I bought a new gun to try to update this costume a little bit for New York Comic Con 2017. It didn't make the pew pew sounds, but it was still pretty cool. |
