Because I could only find scoop neck, glittery fabric top in a leotard, I decided the bottom half of Rei's outfit should be ballet-inspired as well. And since the entire outfit was ballet-inspired, as night follows the day, Dave and I decided to the shoot should be ballet-inspired as well--even though I've never taken a dance lesson in my life. Possibly from being on Discount Dance Supply's mailing list, the image of ballet poses by a window, shot in soft lighting, occurred to me. When I visited David Ng's house for the first time in Easter of 2016, it turned out his front room was *perfect* for what I was envisioning. This is one of those rare, fortuitous times where what I imagined in my head is almost exactly what we ended up with, and 99.9% of the credit for that goes to Dave.
