For the third con I ever went to, I was working my first full time job, not far from the con center. So I decided that, on Friday, I was going to do a simple, "street clothes" costume, that I could wear to work and then go to the con in with a few alterations.

I had gotten into Chobits around this time, and of course was fascinated by the idea of persocoms, but I knew I would never make a good Chii. (I still don't think I look good as a blonde.) So, I decided to be just myself as a persocom. I bought the ears, cut up some hair ribbons, dug my old Catholic school skirt out of the closet and borrowed a tie on permanent loan from my father. I really wanted to do this with thigh highs, but couldn't find any in time, surprisingly. However, knee socks ended up working just as well.

The best part about this was it was very comfortable costume, I could just sit on the floor and hang out with my friends--which is exactly what you want to do the first day of a convention.

This costume is listed as retired because I'd really rather do "official" costumes now, and even if I were to do Crissy-com again, I'd rather do one in a much more frilly outfit, or at the very, very least, a different outfit. After all, Chii is wearing a different outfit almost every time you see her.
