Since I was already commissioning Patti and Steph to make me my Steampunk Sailor Mars accessories, I asked them if they wouldn't mind making what I thought was a fairly simple choker in addition for Lily. And Rae, who was making my back bow for Steampunk Mars, offered to make my wig: I bought a Grace Classic wig from Arda in light green that she dyed, styled, and added the black ribbon for me--the color came out seriously perfect, I am so in love. I found the perfect pair of shoes online...normally I'm very good about tracking these things, but for the life of me I can't remember where. The skirt I bought from a seller named Simeone Designs at the New York Renaissance Faire the weekend I visited with Avian Firefly, so all that was left was the shirt and the bodice. I couldn't find any shirt with large enough leg-o-mutton sleeves, nor any vests with that sweetheart neckline, so I hired Dokudel to make the last two pieces for me.
And after all that, I didn't see a *single* Terry Bogard. I intend to wear this costume as many times as necessary until I get a picture with at least one.
UPDATE - SUCCESS! I found a Terry Bogard at Otakon 2023. Achievement unlocked. |
