EGL Senshi

July 31, 2010

The girls of OPIB had been discussing doing different "concept" costumes of the Sailor Senshi for a few years now, since every artbook image, even the most obscure ones, have been done numerous times by now. Since we all enjoy the femininity and laciness of Elegant Gothic Lolita fashion, and we already owned all four dresses we would need amongst ourselves, we decided to combine practicality with imagination and do EGL Senshi as a group costume Saturday morning at Otakon. PopeCerebus was kind enough to kidnap us after the Sailor Moon photoshoot and do a little private shoot of our own.

From left to right that's Reinii as Makoto, Lady Terentia as Ami, Avian Firefly as Hotaru, and me as Rei.
As you can see, our EGL dresses are in our characters' colors.
Avi's dress is based off of a well known Hotaru fan art.
Reinii's is a St. Patrick's Day based EGL dress that Avi made for herself years ago.
Lady Terentia's dress is one I bought for myself a few years ago.
And mine is the second EGL dress I ever bought.
We had a lot of fun piling into the stone "bowls" that were on the third floor terrace.
The Baltimore Convention Center actually has a lot of beautiful backgrounds to choose from.
There were so many bees in these flowers! We begged them not to sting us. They obliged.
The sun was so bright!
