To tell you the truth, I think this was all CHris's idea. He loves Penny Arcade. Who doesn't? And the four of us (CHris and Carrie, Louis and myself) had been kicking around the idea of doing a "double date cosplay" for a while now, and, well, CHris has some Gabe LiveJournal icons, and I had made Louis a Tycho LiveJournal mood theme (while I think he likes Gabe better, he's much more like Tycho, being a writer and all), so they decided to be Gabe and Tycho. And really, what did that leave for us girls? I'm dating Lou, and I wasn't about to dress up as the Fruit F*cker.

I was able to get a great wig thanks to a suggestion by Ellome, I bought a pair of glasses that are the perfect shape (but unfortunately have a small prescription, so I can't look through them for too long) and a black shirt off of eBay, and everyone has a pair of jeans. I wanted to be as accurate as possible, because with "plain clothes" characters, it's so easy to cut corners and end up virtually unrecognizable. Even with a pretty good costume, I don't kid myself that I'd be recognized without having both a Tycho AND a Gabe around, which is why I doubt I'll be wearing this again.
