Here's the thing: I LOVE Halloween. Adore it. Treasure it beyond belief. Before I discovered cosplay, it was the only time I could wear costumes out of the house without getting too many odd looks. :)

But here's the other thing: now that I've discovered cosplay, I refuse to wear anime/manga/video game costumes for Halloween. I mean, after all, I should save those costumes for conventions, right? But I still want to have a kick butt costume. So I have to return to my American roots.

I'm known amongst my friends for wearing some pretty sexy costumes, so I wanted to go against expectations, and tried picking the least sexy, least Crissy like costume I could. In a way, it was also a way to see just how much I could "stretch" my appearance--after all, I look nothing like Alice.

Well, it was a successful experiment in most ways. The wig looked surprisingly natural on. Lightening my eyebrows worked pretty well, even though I was only using a makeup crayon. And the outfit looked adorable, although I would've liked to have made the skirt a little fuller.

It was entirely unsuccessful in another...I won Sexiest Female Costume...some people scare me.
